
About Me
Girgis Shehata was born in Egypt. He received a B.A. in Fine Arts in 1976 from the College of Fine Arts in Cairo. In 1977, he moved to Paris where he studied for four years at the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux-Arts. Mr. Shehata moved to New York City in 1981 to pursue his art career. He studied portraiture at the Art Students League, and has exhibited at the Pastel Society of America and Salmagundi Club. He is also a member of the Portrait Institute. He has been affiliated with Portraits Inc. since 1985. Girgis lives in Summit, New Jersey with his wife and two sons.
He works in oil, pastel, and charcoal; and he is also an accomplished copyest.
